About Me!

I went to Eastern Illinois University. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education with an emphasis in mathematics. My professional teaching license includes an endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education. My teaching experience includes junior high math, first, second and third grade. I have been a member of the Shepardson community since August of 2012.  I continue my education through classes, conferences, and professional growth opportunities. I love to design my own educational pathways to match the momentum in education and my personal passions for expanding and growing my own professional practice.

I was born and raised in Downers Grove, Illinois. I loved living in a suburb of Chicago. I fully enjoyed the culture and events in the city. My husband and I moved to Colorado in 1997. We have replaced our trips to the city with trips to the mountains. We consider ourselves late-start natives to Colorado.

I became a teacher because I love spending the day surrounded by incredible potential. I am a lifelong learner and being in a setting of continuous learning and exploration is a perfect fit. I truly enjoy seeing my students take their love of learning and carry it with them throughout their school years. One of my favorite things is hearing from former students about their adult successes. It is extremely rewarding to be there at the beginning of their journey.

My husband and I have two daughters. They were both educated in the Poudre School District and attended Shepardson in their elementary years.  They are now in high school and college. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family.

I am an avid reader and history enthusiast. In my free time I enjoy genealogy and local history research. I volunteer at the local and state levels in genealogy related organizations. I am a member of the Our Town, Fort Collins History project in PSD. My family enjoys traveling, playing games, volunteering, and hiking together.

I look forward to partnering with you as your student develops their own lifelong love of learning.

I am excited to be teaching fifth grade this year school! A new adventure awaits.
