I have been teaching for 34 years. I have a Master's degree in Reading and many graduate level courses in mathematics education. I am passionate about my teaching and don't consider it to be a job, but an identity. I have taught all of the grades from kindergarten to eighth, with many of my years in a multiage setting where I really developed my skills at differ entiating instruction. I taught third grade at Shepardson for four years and then moved into the special education teaching position for the next four years. I am excited to be back in the classroom where I can apply even more of the strategies and skills I have learned about meeting individual student needs.
I was born and raised in Arizona where most of my family lives. I moved to Colorado nine years ago. I have two children, Sarah who is a teacher in Chicago and Tyler who works in a technology position in Boston. I also have two step-children, Yvonne who lives in Portland, and Walter, who lives here in Colorado. This gives us lots of fun places to visit! My husband and I love doing anything that involves fresh air and sunshine! We spend a lot of time laughing and enjoying all that life has to offer.
My hobbies are being in the sunshine with the people that I love.
