Engineering and Technology classes are driven by ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education), CSTA (Computer Science Teachers Association) and Colorado State Standards. Student lessons include basic computer usage and literacy, keyboarding, google applications, programming, website design, 3D design, video editing, animation and more.
Students utilize 21st century thinking skills including creativity, communication, collaboration, and technology literacy. Students also learn the importance of being a good digital citizen. Kindergarten to 2nd students focus heavily on learning basic skills (from using a mouse in kindergarten to creating/editing multi-media projects) so that in 3rd-5th students can further apply these skills to more specialized projects that require planning, design, testing and improving. These skills serve them in technology classes but also in their other academic areas and in life.
