Where Stem Learning Happens

Art

Students in K-5 have Art instruction with an Art teacher weekly. Colorado State Art standards are followed using a "Discipline-Based Art Education" approach. This philosophy incorporates aesthetic awareness, Art appreciation, multicultural recognition, Art history as well as Art process, techniques, production and exposure to multiple types of media. The Shepardson Art program has an emphasis on Art process rather than product, students are encouraged to develop their creativity and imagination, which are useful life and work skills. Student Artwork will be displayed throughout the school but also at district shows like Super Art (The Superintendant’s Art Show) and the district wide Designs and Images Art show, now at CSU.
