I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication and Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in 2000-2001 in Poudre School District. I taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade. After completing my Master's degree and Doctorate at Colorado State University in Educational Leadership (spring 2008), I continued at CSU as faculty and lead the Early Childhood Teacher Licensure (Birth- age 8) program for 11 years. In 2020 it was time for me to get back to working with kids and families! I love teaching 2nd grade and I am grateful to be a part of the Shepardson Family (which actually started when I was a student here)!
I grew up in Fort Collins. My husband and I have two boys and we enjoy being outside together. My favorite activities are hiking, yoga, running, biking, and skiing. I can be found fishing occasionally, but usually choose to read and observe while the boys perfect their angling skills.
